An event is brewing in Alicante that has already become a topic of conversation among nightlife enthusiasts. Thamesis Club, once the largest nightclub in Europe, will reopen its doors to guests after years of silence. Locals and visitors alike eagerly await the return of this iconic venue, which for years remained just a memory.
The relaunch is being spearheaded by Marco Zaragoza, who is only 23 years old. He decided not just to revive the family business, but to breathe new life into it. His grandfather, Pepe Zaragoza, founded the club in the 1980s in Redován and now supports his grandson’s ambitious project. At its peak, Thamesis Club would draw up to 10,000 people a night and was a true symbol of Spain’s nightlife culture.
For a long time, the building was used only for private events, but now the club is returning to its roots. The reopening date has been set for October 25. The party, titled “Renacer,” promises to mark the beginning of a new era. Organizers are preparing two different areas: one for nostalgia lovers, and another for fans of modern electronic music. Irregular Live and Oscar Madrid are among the scheduled acts, with other names yet to be announced. The first batch of tickets sold out instantly, and new ones are now on sale for 15 euros. The price includes exclusive souvenirs and a branded lanyard cup.
Thamesis Club occupies an impressive area—12,000 square meters divided into five halls. In the past, it featured not only dance floors but also a café, game zones, and even sports grounds. The club became a magnet for young people from all over the country, and its atmosphere and scale still inspire admiration among the older generation.
Pepe Zaragoza recalls how every week the hall would fill with people, emphasizing that Thamesis was more than just a nightclub—it was a unique space that set the tone for the entire industry. For the family, bringing the club back is not just a business, but also the continuation of traditions they hope to pass on to new generations.
The return of Thamesis Club is not merely nostalgia for the past, but an attempt to once again become the hub for nightlife lovers in Alicante. Organizers hope the club will regain its status as the top party venue and surprise guests with fresh ideas and the scale of its events.
