
In the city of Alhama de Murcia, law enforcement officers carried out an operation to free a woman who had been held in a locked room for an entire week. Three men were arrested as a result, one of whom is underage. All of them are suspected of unlawful detention, as well as several other crimes.
The victim, a 50-year-old local resident, was found in extremely serious condition. Medical staff reported severe exhaustion, dehydration, numerous bruises, and cigarette burns. According to investigators, during this time the woman was subjected to constant abuse: she was denied access to the bathroom, deprived of food and water, refused medication, and was repeatedly insulted and humiliated. She was also forcibly had her hair cut off.
The operation began after an off-duty police officer received alarming information about a possible case of a woman being held against her will. Investigators quickly located the house where the suspects lived—individuals already known to police for drug-related offenses. Inside the room where the victim was found, there was a lock on the outside, dirt, scattered clothes, and a mattress on the floor. In the next room, marijuana branches were drying.
After being rescued, the woman was immediately taken to a medical center in Alhama de Murcia and then transferred to the Virgen de La Arrixaca hospital for further treatment. The detainees are under investigation for unlawful detention, bodily harm, and offenses related to drug trafficking.
