Truck Driver Arrested on A-2 Highway in Guadalajara for Driving Under the Influence

Seven Times Over the Limit: How Police Stopped a Dangerous Drunk Driver on a Busy Highway

A truck driver in Guadalajara was arrested after being found with a blood alcohol level seven times the legal limit. His erratic behavior on the highway raised concerns among traffic police. The incident posed a serious risk to other road users.

On one of the busiest stretches of the A-2 highway in the province of Guadalajara, traffic police stopped a truck whose driver was behaving extremely erratically behind the wheel. The patrol noticed the heavy vehicle swerving unpredictably, immediately raising suspicions of potential traffic violations.

After safely stopping the vehicle, officers conducted a routine check of the driver’s condition. The man, 49 years old and—as it turned out—a Romanian national, showed clear signs of severe intoxication. A breathalyzer test confirmed the worst fears: his blood alcohol content exceeded the legal limit for professional drivers by seven times.

This level of intoxication behind the wheel of a truck is not only a blatant violation of the law but also a real threat to everyone on the road. Trucks speeding down highways require absolute focus and responsibility, since even the slightest mistake can end in tragedy. In this case, only the swift actions of the patrol prevented possible consequences.

A criminal case has been initiated against the detainee under the article providing for liability for driving under the influence of alcohol. The case materials have already been submitted to the court in Guadalajara, where the violator’s further fate will be determined. Such incidents once again highlight the importance of strict control over drivers’ condition, especially those operating heavy vehicles on busy highways.
