
In August 2025, the Spanish car market once again confirmed buyers’ steady preferences. The Dacia Sandero remained the month’s best-selling vehicle, with 2,137 units sold. Toyota, in turn, maintained its lead among brands, delivering 6,698 cars.
Second place among models went to the Toyota Corolla, which rose from seventh position in July. In August, 1,740 new Corollas were registered, up 36% compared to the same period last year. Renault Clio ranked third with 1,236 cars sold, also indicating a 5.6% increase in demand.
Rounding out the top five most popular models in August were the Hyundai Tucson (1,208 units) and Seat Ibiza (1,186 units). Both vehicles had ranked higher the previous month, but lost ground to competitors in August.
Looking at the annual results, the Dacia Sandero confidently holds the lead with 25,316 units sold. In second place is the MG ZS (17,778 vehicles), while Renault Clio takes third (16,258 units). Fourth for the year so far is the Seat Ibiza (15,603 cars), with Toyota Corolla closing the top five after surpassing the Seat Arona to reach 14,989 units sold.
The top ten best-selling models of the year also include the Seat Arona (14,947), Peugeot 208 (14,327), Hyundai Tucson (14,095), Nissan Qashqai (13,357), and Renault Captur (13,062 cars).
Among car brands, Toyota continues to lead the Spanish market. In August, the company sold 6,698 vehicles, allowing it to maintain its top position. Volkswagen ranked second with 4,171 cars sold, while Renault rose from fifth to third place with 3,793 cars sold. The top five also included Dacia (3,750) and Hyundai (3,573).
At the end of the year, Toyota remains the most popular brand in Spain with 65,432 vehicles sold. Renault ranks second (54,765), while Volkswagen comes in third (50,721). Seat retains fourth place (45,865), and Hyundai is fifth (44,403).
Kia (3,250), Seat (3,210), MG (2,704), Mercedes (2,538), and BMW (2,287 cars) also made it into the top 10 brands in August sales.
The data show that Spanish buyers continue to favor trusted models and brands, while market demand remains stable. Despite seasonal fluctuations, the top sellers remain unchanged and competition among manufacturers is intensifying.
