Leapmotor marks significant progress in the automotive industry, surpassing the milestone of one million vehicles produced. Notably, the company achieved this result in less than a year after reaching the 500,000 mark, setting a new benchmark for young brands in the electric vehicle sector.
This rapid growth signals Leapmotor’s transition to a new level of maturity. The brand now confidently holds its position among the leaders in the electric vehicle market, demonstrating high production capacity and strong brand recognition.
Leapmotor’s success is driven by two main areas: the development of its own research centers worldwide and the implementation of the ‘inclusive technology’ principle, which makes innovation accessible to a wide audience. From January to August 2025, the company sold over 320,000 vehicles, maintaining its leadership in sales among new energy brands for six consecutive months.
Leapmotor’s growing influence is evidenced by its inclusion in the preliminary Fortune China 500 list, as well as among the country’s leading private and manufacturing enterprises. These achievements underscore the resilience of its business model and the company’s technological expertise.
During a ceremony marking the release of the millionth vehicle, founder and CEO Zhu Jiangming noted that it took five years to produce the first 500,000 cars, while doubling this figure took less than 12 months. Management is confident that the next million will be reached even faster.
A key development factor was the effective system of collaboration between research departments, engineers, commercial divisions, and the service network. This approach enabled the creation of a wide range of products, including passenger cars, crossovers, and minivans, all grouped into the ABCD series.
Among the most in-demand models is the C10, which sold more than 160,000 units in 17 months, making it the leader in the mid-size SUV segment. The C16 model, featuring extended range and smart functions, has also received high user ratings. Sales of the B10 began in April, and within a few months, more than 60,000 units were sold.
The next stage will be the launch of the Lafa5 (global name B05), which debuted at the Munich Auto Show. The new model features a modern design, European handling, and advanced technologies. Sales in China are scheduled to begin at the end of 2025, and the model will reach international markets in 2026, strengthening Leapmotor’s global presence.
