The Government Delegation and National Police are monitoring possible Blocus protests in Zaragoza. The anonymous platform has called demonstrations in several Spanish capitals and uses social media to mobilise young people.

The term Blocus means “blockade” in French. Online calls using the label framed the mobilisation around the dignity and quality of secondary schools, in solidarity with French student protests linked to the Lycées Indignés movement. The same label was used for a mobilisation in Barcelona on 24 October 2026, which escalated into hours of disorder. Shops were looted and fires were set. Barricades went up, and protesters clashed with the Mossos d’Esquadra.

The anonymous platform has called protests in several Spanish capitals, including Zaragoza. RTVE’s verification team reported monitoring social-media networks from 22 October. It identified calls for action on 24 October and references to Zaragoza. Madrid and Barcelona were also named, along with Palma de Mallorca. Bilbao and Alicante appeared in the calls as well. Further online calls named Zaragoza among cities for gatherings planned for 31 October and 30 November.

The Government Delegation and National Police are monitoring the possibility of mobilisations in Zaragoza. In Barcelona, Catalan police investigated the online activity and sought to identify those behind the platform and the violence. The mobilisation had no publicly known leaders or recognised association structure.

Blocus uses social media to mobilise young people, and the Barcelona event became associated with violent disturbances. Reporting put the crowd at roughly 500 people. An initial police balance cited by EFE recorded 128 arrests, including 72 minors. It also listed 23 shops that were looted or vandalised. Injuries were reported among 14 Mossos officers and one Guardia Urbana officer. Barcelona City Council estimated damage to municipal property at €36,000. Subsequent reporting put the arrest total at about 130, including 74 minors.
