Automobile Barcelona 2027 will take place at Fira de Barcelona's Gran Via site. The move is due to major renovations at Montjuic for the 1929 International Exhibition centenary. Organisers promise an enhanced visitor experience.

The 2027 edition of Automobile Barcelona will shift from its traditional Montjuic location to the Gran Via venue in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, as announced by Fira de Barcelona. The event is scheduled for 10 to 18 April 2027, marking a significant change prompted by extensive transformation works at Montjuic tied to the centenary of the 1929 International Exhibition. This relocation is set to impact both exhibitors and visitors, as the show adapts to new logistical and spatial realities.

According to the organisers, the Gran Via site offers expanded facilities that will allow Automobile Barcelona to strengthen its exhibition and experiential offerings. Event director José Miguel García highlighted that the new venue is expected to improve the overall experience for attendees, with more space and modern infrastructure. The move is not just a response to construction at Montjuic, but also an opportunity to update the event’s format and reach.

The 2027 show is being designed to showcase and test the latest vehicle models, stimulate the automotive market, and support the acceleration of electric vehicle adoption in Spain. Organisers emphasise that the new location will help facilitate these goals by providing a more versatile environment for demonstrations and interactive experiences. José López-Tafall, director general of the Asociación Española de Fabricantes de Automóviles y Camiones (Anfac), noted that the event remains a key platform for industry innovation and consumer engagement.

Automobile Barcelona is one of Spain’s most prominent automotive events, regularly attracting major manufacturers, industry professionals, and the public. The Gran Via venue, already known for hosting large-scale international exhibitions, is equipped with advanced facilities and improved accessibility compared to Montjuic. This transition comes at a time when the Spanish automotive sector is undergoing rapid transformation, with electrification and digitalisation at the forefront of industry priorities. The centenary works at Montjuic are part of a broader initiative to revitalise historic spaces in Barcelona, reflecting the city’s ongoing commitment to hosting major international events. The 2027 edition is expected to maintain the show’s status as a leading platform for automotive trends and market developments in Spain and beyond.
