LOC reports that Isabel Díaz Ayuso and Alberto González Amador have ended their relationship after five years. A source close to the couple said they had been separated for several months following a summer crisis.

Isabel Díaz Ayuso’s move to a home in the Puerta de Hierro area in August 2026 was cited by La Otra Crónica (LOC), the society supplement of El Mundo, as a clue to the reported end of her relationship with Alberto González Amador. In November, LOC reported that a source close to the couple said they had been living apart for several months after a serious crisis during the summer.

The account remains attributed to that source. Neither Ayuso nor González Amador has publicly announced the separation, El Periódico reported. Some coverage described it as a mutual and cordial decision, while other reports focused on months of tension and Ayuso’s change of residence. The relationship first became public in May 2021, when Spanish celebrity media published photographs of the pair together in Ibiza. LOC reported the split after five years together.

LOC described the relationship as marked by recurring friction. Its report also said artist Nacho Cano had become a close source of support for Ayuso and had visited her home in recent weeks. The publication reported that she continued her regular morning exercise routine.

The relationship unfolded amid legal scrutiny of González Amador. The tax investigation began in 2022 and became public in 2024. That year, a Tax Agency investigation identified an alleged €350,951 tax fraud involving corporate tax for the 2020 and 2021 financial years. The reported accusations also include alleged commercial-document forgery, continuing accounting offenses and membership of a criminal organization. Emails emerged in which his lawyer offered to acknowledge two tax offences in exchange for an agreement with the Public Prosecutor’s Office.

In September 2025, Madrid Investigating Court No. 19 ordered the tax-fraud case to proceed to oral trial. El Correo reported that a hearing date had not been set and the case was awaiting proceedings before Madrid Criminal Court No. 19. The allegations have not resulted in a final judgment establishing González Amador’s criminal liability. A separate controversy concerned the disclosure of confidential information connected with the tax inquiry. Spain’s Supreme Court disqualified former State Prosecutor General Álvaro García Ortiz for unlawfully revealing reserved information in the case.

Property transactions formed another part of the scrutiny. González Amador bought a flat in Madrid’s Chamberí district in 2022 for €850,000. The following year, Babia Capital SL, administered by his tax adviser Javier Luis Gómez Fidalgo, acquired a penthouse that the couple rented. In November 2025, González Amador bought that penthouse for more than €1 million, becoming the owner of both homes in the building.

In April 2026, public company Planifica Madrid acquired a 481-square-metre penthouse in the president’s neighbourhood for €6.3 million, describing it as an office. Separately, RUSSPAIN.COM has covered practical holiday opening arrangements in its supermarket-hours report.
