Proceeds from the €8 caps help fund AFANOC’s support for children and young people with cancer and their families, including accommodation at La Casa dels Xuklis.
The Mercat del Clot and Mercat de Provençals will join 19 other Barcelona municipal markets as outlets on 7 November. AFANOC (Asociación de Niños con Cáncer) is organising the campaign, now in its 26th edition.
Andreu Buenafuente designed this year’s cap. Its central red dot is surrounded by lines and colours, representing the complexity of living with cancer while continuing to play and grow.
AFANOC uses the funds for psycho-emotional and social support. They also help maintain the accommodation and comprehensive assistance offered at La Casa dels Xuklis, as well as the organisation’s territorial offices and socio-educational and leisure activities.
Other fundraising efforts have included a Seville race for childhood cancer. About 6,000 participants took part, and all race places were claimed within days, as described in an earlier Seville report.
The campaign’s family festival is scheduled for 15 November 2026 at Poble Espanyol in Barcelona, with activities and workshops. Hoy Barcelona lists the event as “Fiesta «Ponte la gorra»” and indicates free admission. Supporters can also back AFANOC as campaign ambassadors or through participating companies and schools.
