At FIAA Madrid 2026, BYD’s B12.b HF won the Sustainable Bus Award 2027 in the Intercity category. An international jury of specialist journalists selected the electric bus for its long range and advanced battery. The award ceremony took place in Madrid on September 23, 2026, as part of FIAA 2026, Sustainable Bus reported.
The B12.b HF can travel up to 655 kilometers on one charge, thanks to BYD’s own Blade Battery, built into the chassis. BYD develops its batteries and propulsion systems in-house, and also builds its own vehicles, giving the company a strong position in the electric bus market. The high-floor class II bus is designed for regional and intercity routes and was already on sale before the award. Autobusweb reported that it entered the market in late 2025.
IFEMA Madrid said FIAA 2026 had a record 110 exhibitors, an 18% increase over the previous edition, and welcomed 40 new companies.
Domenico Gostoli, who leads BYD Commercial Vehicles for Europe, said the real test is making new idea work for operators every day.
