The V27 Long Range uses a large LFP battery from CATL. It’s much bigger than the 34.3 kWh packs in earlier models. This isn’t just a technical tweak. Chery is making a statement about what range-extended electric vehicles can do in Europe. The V27’s electric range is measured at 300 km on the Chinese CLTC cycle. With its 1.5 turbo petrol generator, total range could top the 1,230 km of the current version.
According to independent sources, the real-world WLTP electric range of the V27 Long Range is estimated at 215–246 km, which is notably lower than the optimistic CLTC figure but still competitive for its class.
The V27 is hard to miss. It stretches 4.9 meters long, or 5.05 meters with the spare wheel. Width is nearly 2 meters. Height is almost 1.9 meters. This is the biggest iCAUR yet. The design nods to classic off-roaders: squared body, round headlights, big wheel arches, and a side-hinged tailgate. But it rides on a monocoque chassis and seats five. Old-school looks, modern build.
Performance is just as bold. The all-wheel-drive V27 puts out up to 449 CV from its electric motors. Rear-wheel-drive versions offer 252 CV. The petrol engine works as a generator, keeping the battery charged and pushing range far past most plug-in hybrids. Chery hasn’t revealed the final specs for Europe. The technical leap is clear.
Inside, Chery promises quality materials and tight assembly. The tech package depends on the trim. Falcon 500 models use radar and cameras for driver assistance. Falcon 700 adds a roof-mounted LiDAR and a Horizon Robotics Journey 6P processor with 560 TOPS. That means advanced navigation help in cities and on highways.
Official statements indicate that the V27 Long Range supports DC fast charging from 30% to 80% in just 17 minutes and offers V2L (vehicle-to-load) capability up to 6 kW, doubling the output of the previous version. These features are part of the standard package for the new model.
Chery’s European push is already underway. The V27 was developed with global markets in mind. Validation tests have taken place across Europe, including Germany. Romania will get the V27 first in a pre-launch phase. Commercial sales start in early 2027. Italy and Spain are also on the list for that year. It’s not yet clear if the Long Range with the 51.2 kWh battery will be standard everywhere. Final specs for Europe are still secret.
