Dacia launches the Spring 2027 with a bold redesign, improved range, and a price tag that dips below 15000 euros with incentives. The new model aims to make electric mobility accessible without sacrificing practicality or comfort.

For the first time, a fully electric car with enough range and real space is arriving in Spanish showrooms for under 15000 euros. The Dacia Spring 2027 isn't just a facelift. It's a complete overhaul aimed at the main concerns of city drivers: price, range, and practicality.

The changes aren't about one big feature, but about fixing the basics. The car is now 3.85 meters long and 18 centimeters wider than before, finally solving the cramped cabin of the old model. Four adults can sit comfortably, which is rare for a car this size.

The new Dacia Spring is built on a platform related to the Renault Twingo E-Tech, marking a significant engineering leap beyond a simple facelift.

It uses an 80-horsepower electric motor and a 27.5 kWh battery, giving up to 250 kilometers of range. That matches what most city drivers actually need. Dacia says the average Spring owner drives just 34 kilometers a day, so a single charge can last a week for many people.

Charging is more flexible now. The Spring 2027 can reach 80 percent charge in nine hours from a standard 6.6 kW outlet, or in just 28 minutes with a 50 kW fast charger. If you have a reinforced home socket, five hours is enough for a solid top-up. This makes it easier for buyers who don't have a dedicated home charger.

The interior has changed just as much. There's now a 7-inch digital display and a 10.1-inch central touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Physical climate controls are still there, which makes things simpler to use. USB-C ports and a V2L system (so you can power devices from the car's battery) add more practicality. Storage is good for this class: 20 liters of interior cubbies and a split-level boot floor for the 337-liter trunk.

According to Reuters, the new Dacia Spring will be produced in Europe rather than imported from China, a move that could improve access to government incentives in several countries and enhance the model's appeal to European buyers. This shift is part of Dacia's broader strategy, as the Spring is the first of four fully electric models planned by the brand before the end of the decade.

There's also a new front storage compartment, adding 18 liters under the redesigned grille. Combined with the main boot, the Spring now has one of the largest cargo spaces among city EVs.

Production has moved to Dacia's Slovenian plant, so the car qualifies for European incentives. With the Plan Auto Plus, the starting price drops to 15000 euros, undercutting most competitors and removing a common reason to avoid electric cars.

The first generation sold 210000 units in 40 countries, showing there's real demand for affordable electric cars. With the 2027 update, Dacia is betting that a better-equipped, more comfortable, and still budget-friendly EV will attract even more buyers. This approach is similar to recent launches like the Kia EV2, where real-world usability matters more than flashy specs.

Dacia has focused on what city drivers actually care about: price, range, and space. The Spring 2027 isn't trying to be a luxury EV or a tech showcase. It's a straightforward electric car that covers the basics and makes them affordable. In a market full of expensive models and overhyped features, this is a welcome change. The real question is whether Spanish buyers will respond as strongly as they did to the first generation, but the essentials are finally in place for electric cars to become a mainstream option.
