The 29 November general election will use 49 polling stations across Dénia and its outlying districts. Dénia will have 46 stations, with the other three in its outlying districts: two in La Xara and one in Jesús Pobre. Spain’s election was formally called under Royal Decree 806/2026, published in the Boletín Oficial del Estado on 6 October 2026.
The Ajuntament de Dénia says 441 people have been selected as polling-station members and substitutes using software provided by the Instituto Nacional de Estadística (INE). That works out to nine people per station: one president and two vocal members, plus two substitutes for each position. National rules call for a public random draw from eligible voters assigned to each station. Municipalities are to hold the draws between 31 October and 4 November, and selected people must be notified within three days.
There are 28,977 people eligible to vote in the municipality, information from information from the Oficina del Censo Electoral. General elections are restricted to Spanish nationals: 26,943 eligible voters live in Dénia, while 2,034 are resident abroad. The wider arrangements for overseas registrants were covered in the CERA voting report. People selected for a polling station have seven days from notification to submit a justified request for exemption to the Electoral District Board.
Polling-station service is compulsory for those selected, unless they qualify for a legally recognized exemption. Members must generally be aged 18 to 69 and be able to read and write; the president must also meet an additional educational requirement. Those who serve receive a €75 allowance. Substitutes receive it only if they replace a titular member on election day.
One polling location in Dénia is changing. The station at the Escuela de Música Manuel Lattur will move to the Museu del Joguets at c. Calderón, 2.
The Ajuntament will hold an information meeting for polling-station members on 25 November at 19:00 at the Centro Social de Dénia. On election day, titular members and substitutes must report to their assigned polling location at 08:00, an hour before voting begins.
National plans call for around 61,033 polling stations and 549,297 people summoned to serve across Spain. RTVE reports an electorate of 38,728,356 Spanish voters, subject to possible census changes before polling day.
