A fatal accident occurred on Monday evening in the municipality of Roperuelos del Páramo (León province): an 80-year-old cyclist died after a collision with a truck on the LE-412 highway. According to the Castilla y León 112 emergency service, the incident was recorded at kilometer 16 of the road at around 21:48.
Immediately after receiving the accident report, the 112 operations center dispatched a road police unit and a Sacyl medical team with a resuscitation vehicle to the scene. The arriving medics found the victim unconscious. Despite attempts to provide assistance, the man could not be saved — he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Details of the circumstances of the collision have not yet been disclosed. It is known that the accident occurred after dark, which may have affected visibility and the participants’ reactions. According to emergency services, the truck driver and other people involved were not injured.
