A violent confrontation at a hotel used for emergency accommodation in Saint-Priest, near Lyon, turned deadly on Wednesday afternoon. A dispute between two residents escalated, leaving a 47-year-old man fatally stabbed.
The incident occurred at about 16:30 at the relais de la gare routière, where an association temporarily houses families in need on behalf of the State. Both the victim and the alleged attacker were foreign nationals staying at the hotel under this emergency shelter arrangement. During the dispute, the 38-year-old suspect inflicted multiple stab wounds to the victim’s abdomen and left side. Emergency services responded, but the injuries proved fatal, and the victim was declared dead shortly after the attack.
