Ford Almussafes and UGT have ended months of talks. The agreement sets pay rises above inflation and adds new workplace benefits through 2030.
The final document gives Ford Almussafes a labour framework through 2030. It raises wages above the real inflation rate and lifts the special annual payment to €1,000 from 2027. The terms also cover the period before Ford and Geely prepare a joint venture linked to five vehicles at the factory from 2028.
Ford España called union representatives on Wednesday and presented the final document. The company had warned on Monday that there was little room for further talks. UGT, the plant's majority union, called the result historic. The union says it brings stability at a decisive point for Almussafes.
The planned Ford–Geely joint venture is expected to be established in the first half of 2027, with Ford holding 66% and Geely 34%.
Pay is the biggest immediate change. In 2027, employees will receive the real consumer price index plus 1.5%. The increase will be at least 3% and no more than 5%.
From 2028 to 2030, the formula will be the real consumer price index plus 1%. The minimum rise will be 2.5%, while the maximum will remain 5%.
Each annual increase will apply retroactively from 1 January. The total increase over the full period will be capped at 20%. The agreement also includes a retroactive review clause for every year it remains in force.
The figures are clear.
The special payment will rise from €690 to €1,000 a year in 2027. From 2029, it will enter the wage tables and rise with the agreed salary increases. A payment that was once separate will become a permanent part of pay.
Ford España reported earnings of €69 million in 2025, down 70% year on year as vehicle production fell. The weaker financial backdrop helps explain why the company stressed that the scope for further concessions was limited during the negotiations.
The deal adds new professional categories tied to upcoming production programmes. Ford will be able to schedule up to eight Saturday production shifts for each employee every year when factory needs require them.
Employees will receive a rest day. That day may have been taken in advance. They will also receive the flexibility premium set out in the Electrification Agreement.
Another clause allows up to 12 industrial days from future years to be brought forward and turned into holidays during periods of lower activity. If those days later need to be worked, employees will receive the work premium for the final two industrial days of each year.
From 2027, the 16 annual hours of paid leave for appointments with a non-specialist Social Security doctor may also cover appointments for children under 15. The same provision applies when an employee accompanies a dependent father or mother.
The distance allowance will rise by 10% over its 2026 value in 2027. That change is also part of the new deal.
The agreement updates the Electrification Agreement that Ford and UGT signed in 2022. Its timing is tied to the planned Ford-Geely alliance and the proposed production of five vehicles from 2028. The factory is also approaching its 50th anniversary.
Almussafes will continue producing the Kuga. Preparations are also under way for a new hybrid Bronco from the beginning of 2028, according to Expansión.
UGT says the pact can support thousands of direct and indirect jobs and strengthen economic activity in the Valencian Community. The union presents those effects as the result of a long period of certainty. The agreement itself does not set an immediate employment figure.
For employees, the terms are practical. They bring indexed wage increases, a larger payment that will later enter the wage tables, clearer leave rights and rules for production flexibility.
For Ford Almussafes, the deal sets the labour framework for the programmes linked to Ford and Geely. The negotiations are over. The next production cycle now has its workforce rules.
