Spanish Tax Agency Announces Dates for In-Person Income Tax Filing Appointments. Starting May 29, Spain will open appointments for in-person visits at tax offices to file 2025 income tax returns. In-person submission will begin on June 1 and continue through the end of June 2026. Bank payment will have a separate deadline.

Starting May 29, Spain opens appointments at Agencia Tributaria offices for filing the 2025 income tax return. In-person document submission will begin on June 1 and end on June 30, 2026 — this is the deadline for the campaign. Those planning to pay the tax via direct debit should remember: the last day for this operation is June 25.

In-person appointments at tax offices remain in demand, even though most Spaniards are already used to online services. This format is especially relevant for the elderly, those unsure about tax legislation nuances, or anyone who simply prefers the help of a specialist. As Talent24h notes, over 90% of returns in the country are now filed remotely, but the offline service is still sought after.

Who can file in person

Individuals who do not engage in complex economic activities can file their IRPF return at the office. IRPF is the main personal income tax in Spain. For many citizens, a personal consultation with a tax office employee helps avoid mistakes and misunderstandings.

Restrictions for complex cases

Agencia Tributaria emphasizes that not all returns can be filed at the office. If a taxpayer has income from direct assessment activities (estimación directa), more than two rented properties, or several property sale transactions, these cases require a separate approach. In these situations, it is recommended to contact private consultants or use the Renta Web online service.

How to make an appointment

You can make an in-person appointment online, through the tax agency’s mobile app, or by phone. For identification, you can use Cl@ve, an electronic certificate, DNIe, or a special reference number. The Le Llamamos service is also available — phone assistance that last year allowed more than one million returns to be filed without visiting an office.

What to consider before your visit

Before making an appointment, make sure your case is eligible for in-person filing. Prepare your documents and identification in advance, and check whether you fall under any exceptions. Remember the key dates: appointments open May 29, in-person consultations start June 1, the general deadline is June 30, 2026, and for bank payments — until June 25.

An in-person appointment at the tax office is a chance to get professional help and reduce the risk of error. However, don’t postpone filing until the last minute: the tax campaign calendar is strictly limited, with no extensions provided.
