In Seville, the court for cases of violence against women has launched an investigation into Gustavo Fuentes Aguilar, CEO of Andalucía Digital Multimedia (ADM) and former chairman of the Clúster audiovisual de Andalucía (LAND). The investigation was prompted by a complaint from a former ADM employee who accused the executive of sexual harassment and violation of personal freedom. The judge decided to begin preliminary proceedings on February 9, 2026, after hearing the testimony of the complainant. Fuentes was originally scheduled to appear in court on May 11, but his questioning was postponed to June 25. During this period, he resigned as chairman of the LAND cluster without mentioning the ongoing criminal investigation among the reasons for his departure.
Fuentes himself denies the accusations, emphasizing that the court refused to impose precautionary measures and asserting that the events in question date back to 2023. He stated that he intends to prove his innocence during the hearings. The management of ADM and representatives of Canal Sur have not commented on the situation.
According to elDiario.es, the complaint refers to incidents that occurred in 2013, 2021, and 2023. The case file includes WhatsApp messages which, according to the complainant, contain persistent requests for private meetings and messages of an intimate nature. Among them are sexually suggestive expressions, such as: “Cariño, tengo ganas de ti”, “Tú me debes una noche loca” and “¿A qué hora se puede hablar de cosas de mayores?”.
Along with Fuentes, two witnesses for the plaintiff have been summoned to court on June 25. ADM is one of the largest production companies for Canal Sur, responsible, among other things, for producing Andalucía Directo. The controlling stake in ADM belongs to the Andalusian government through the company Sandetel (about 48%). Fuentes' appointment as chairman of the LAND cluster in 2023 was backed by the Minister for the Presidency, Antonio Sanz, who emphasized the importance of developing the region's audiovisual sector.
In Spain, cases of sexual harassment and violations of personal freedom are handled by courts through a special procedure.
