Ingredalia has won a FoodTech Emprende Award in Barcelona. The Navarra startup received the prize for its bioactive sulforaphane platform for functional foods.
Europa Press listed Ingredalia among the winners of the FoodTech Awards 2026, held during Alimentaria FoodTech in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, Barcelona. The Navarra startup took the prize in the FoodTech Emprende Awards category titled 'Impacto en la salud y/o bienestar' for a bioactive sulforaphane platform aimed at a new generation of functional foods.
The award was presented at the fair, which runs from 6 to 8 October. Alimentaria FoodTech covers food and beverage innovation, machinery technology and ingredients. According to Europa Press, the 2026 event brought together more than 330 companies from 22 countries, putting Ingredalia's award in an international industry setting.
Alimentaria FoodTech 2026 brought together more than 330 companies from 22 countries, making the award part of an international industry event rather than a local competition.
Ingredalia operates from the Viveros de Innovación of Centro Europeo de Empresas e Innovación de Navarra, the public company known as CEIN. Its base in the CEIN network links the award to Navarra's wider startup support system.
CEIN is attending the fair for the first time with a stand promoted by the Departamento de Industria y de Transición Ecológica y Digital Empresarial del Gobierno de Navarra. The stand is in FoodTech Innovarena, a space for professionals, companies, startups and other groups working in the agri-food sector.
Several other Navarra businesses are taking part. Uraphex, another startup based in the CEIN innovation hub, reached the final of the FoodTech Emprende Awards. Allbiotech was a finalist in the FoodTech Innova Awards.
The 2026 programme expanded its scientific dimension with the FoodTech Award al Mérito Científico. Among the recognised figures was microbiologist Francis Mojica, known for work associated with the discovery of CRISPR.
Greendur, MOA Foodtech, Nawattia, Nucaps and Nulab were also linked to the CEIN group at the event. Their presence puts Ingredalia's award alongside a broader set of Navarra projects in food and industrial technology.
An earlier report described the exhibition's focus on automation and artificial intelligence. Ingredalia's prize adds a health and wellbeing project to that mix.
FoodTech Awards 2026 recognised eight business projects. Four won in the Emprende category: Ingredalia, Novameat, Darwin and IOVI. Four others won in Innova: FPS, Disproquima, Collo and BrainR.
The programme also added the FoodTech Award al Mérito Científico in 2026. The new award recognised technologies and ingredients used in food production, processing and storage. Microbiologist Francis Mojica was among the recognised figures for work associated with the discovery of CRISPR.
CEIN's work at the fair is part of the Agrofood ScaleUp programme. The public company provides specialised services to help innovative Navarra startups in the agri-food sector expand their operations.
That gives the award a clear local link. Ingredalia won a category tied to health and wellbeing, while CEIN used the Barcelona fair to present several companies from the same Navarra innovation network.
Available independent reporting confirms the award, the size of the fair and its scientific programme. It does not confirm how Ingredalia obtains or stabilises sulforaphane. The available reports also do not establish trial results, dosage levels, patent status, commercial partners or the exact makeup of the functional foods.
