Liux is getting ready to shake up city transport with the Big, an electric quadricycle built in Guadalajara. Priced below eighteen thousand euros and made with flax fiber biocomposites, the Big is designed for efficiency and sustainability.
Nearly 7,500 people have already signed up for the Liux Big. This new electric quadricycle is set to hit Spanish city streets with a starting price under eighteen thousand euros. Liux wants to deliver a light, eco-friendly car that beats regular electric cars on both price and carbon footprint.
The Big will be built in Azuqueca de Henares, Guadalajara. Its official debut is planned for the Paris Motor Show. Mondial de l’Auto organizers say the public will see it from October 12 to 18, 2026, as an L7e light quadricycle. Several independent sources confirm the Big will have a maximum nominal power of 15 kW and reach speeds up to 90 km/h. In France, drivers as young as 16 can get behind the wheel with a B1 license. Battery choices of 15 and 20 kWh should give a WMTC-certified range of about 210 to 270 km. The whole car, battery included, weighs just 648 kilograms. This figure is backed up by official Paris Motor Show materials.
Production at the Azuqueca de Henares plant is targeted to reach up to 20,000 units per year starting in 2028.
The Big stands out for its ultralight monocoque body, made entirely from flax fiber biocomposites. This cuts weight by 40 percent compared to a steel chassis and lowers CO2 emissions by 60 percent, according to company data. The result is a car with very low energy use—6.7 kWh per 100 kilometers. That makes it one of the most efficient in its class. Still, these numbers come from the company and have not yet been independently checked, as several industry publications point out.
Charging is meant to be simple. The 3.3 kW onboard charger lets the battery go from 20 to 80 percent in under three hours using a regular household outlet. Inside, the Big is built for two people. It has a digital instrument panel, a multifunction steering wheel, and large, easy-to-use controls. The interior is simple and practical, aimed at city drivers who want efficiency, not extras.
Liux plans to sell the Big in Spain, Italy, and France. Deliveries are set to start in the first half of 2027. This schedule and market focus are confirmed by independent Spanish and French media. The new Guadalajara plant is expected to reach a production rate of 20,000 units per year from 2028. Liux is ready to ramp up if demand stays strong.
French and Spanish press emphasize that the sub-18,000 euro price is a preliminary positioning by the startup, not a fixed retail price, and that the Big is classified as an L7e quadricycle with eligibility for drivers as young as 16 in France.
Interest in the Big keeps growing, as shown in a recent report on early reservations. The mix of price, range, and sustainable materials puts Liux in direct competition with established brands in the city EV market.
For now, the Big’s use of lightweight construction and biocomposites is rare in mass-market electric cars, which usually rely on heavier steel or aluminum frames. By focusing on efficiency and keeping costs down, Liux is betting that city drivers will care more about practical range and low running costs than power or luxury. If Liux delivers, the Big could set a new standard for urban mobility in southern Europe. The real test will come when production ramps up and the first cars reach the streets. Only then will it be clear if Liux’s push for sustainable, affordable electric transport can win over a market looking for new options.
