On Thursday 15 October, Lucas Paulano will perform his Eurovision Junior entry on television for the first time during the live edition of ‘El perro andaluz’. The Eurovisión Junior final is set for Malta on 24 October, with Spain’s 10-year-old representative among 16 performers in the contest, which begins at 21:00 Central European Time in Spain.
The song is called ‘Cuore Bello (Te Quiero, Te Quiero)’. Paulano and Blas Cantó wrote it, with Dangelo Ortega and Carlos Almazán also credited. RTVE revealed the title on 2 September, and the song was first presented at a press conference at Prado del Rey on 28 September.
Hosted by Manu Sánchez, the programme airs on La 1 and RTVE Play after ‘La Revuelta’. Paulano rose to prominence after winning the tenth season of ‘La Voz Kids’ in 2025. RTVE chose him through an internal process this year, replacing the open selection used from 2022 to 2025. A commission held a two-day audition for 16 young performers invited through music-industry representatives.
Spain is staying in the children’s contest despite withdrawing from the adult Eurovision Song Contest 2026 over Israel’s participation. This will be the country’s 12th appearance at Eurovisión Junior.
Antonio José will join Sánchez to discuss his music career. He represented Spain at Eurovisión Junior in 2005 and will talk about his achievements and fears. The programme will also cover his current artistic work.
Rodrigo Cuevas is set to perform, reworking folklore while retaining its roots. María Galiana is also due to appear, sharing stories and observations.
Sánchez will open and close the broadcast with monologues on current affairs. The Confesionario will return, along with the programme’s distribution of ministerial roles and questions for guests. RTVE Play’s youth programming has also featured the EN PLAY additions described in an earlier report.
On 9 October, Paulano recorded a symphonic version of ‘Cuore Bello’ at Madrid’s Teatro Monumental with the RTVE Orchestra and Choir. Miguel Guerra conducted. More than 300 schoolchildren attended, and RTVE Play later published the performance. The orchestral arrangement is separate from the version planned for the contest.
‘El perro andaluz’ is scheduled to air live on Thursday 15 October after ‘La Revuelta’ on La 1 and RTVE Play. At the Eurovisión Junior final in Malta on 24 October, Spain will perform last, in position 16, after Georgia.
