Group VI of the Policía Nacional homicide unit carried out the arrest because the Mossos have no jurisdiction outside Catalonia. Officers also searched the woman's home in the Moncloa-Aravaca district. The search was authorized by the Tribunal de Instancia de Vielha.
She must now be taken to the Vielha court handling the case. She may give evidence or remain silent. The judge will then decide whether to release her.
