Fourteen professionals are learning how to use a cow's physical structure to make better breeding decisions in Navarra. Conafe and AFNA held the workshop at Unión Montaribe in Cortes, focusing on the Frisona breed. The message was practical: farmers need to read morphology and genetics together when choosing cows that function well, last longer and make the farm more profitable.
The training went beyond classroom theory. Participants assessed animals on the farm and used the same criteria as professional classifiers. They judged individual traits and body regions. The exercise showed how each part of the assessment shapes the animal's final morphological score.
