Medical staff arrived to find the nine-year-old in cardiorespiratory arrest. A person at the scene who identified themself as a doctor had begun cardiopulmonary resuscitation. SUC teams continued advanced resuscitation but could not revive her, and her death was confirmed at the scene.
The Canary Islands Government’s CECOES 112 received the alert at 17:23 on Thursday, 5 November, and passed it to the relevant emergency services. The incident took place on Calle La Luchada in the municipality of Tías, Lanzarote.
The SUC coordinator dispatched two ambulances: one medicalised unit and one basic life-support ambulance. A doctor and a nurse from Tías Health Centre were also sent to the scene.
Policía Local and Protección Civil were called to the scene. Policía Local officers prepared the incident report and began gathering facts about the collision, while Protección Civil transported health-centre staff to the location. The circumstances are separate from a school-related pupil death case in which families asked a court to investigate alleged mistreatment and a possible link to the death.
