Omoda & Jaecoo have sold over 60,000 vehicles in Spain in under three years, with electrified models now dominating their lineup. The brand has become the third most popular in Almería for 2026, reshaping the local market.

Almería’s car market looks different now. Omoda & Jaecoo have jumped to third place in local sales for 2026. They moved more than 60,000 vehicles across Spain in less than three years. That’s a sharp climb. The numbers tell only part of the story. Spanish drivers are changing what they want—and fast.

Electrified cars now drive the brand’s growth. Since February 2024, Omoda & Jaecoo have sold over 37,500 electrified vehicles in Spain. That’s more than 60% of their total sales here. In 2026, electrified models make up 92% of all deliveries. Most of these are hybrids and plug-in hybrids with the Super Hybrid System. Gasoline cars used to rule the lineup, making up 97.7% of sales in 2024. This year, that share has dropped to just 7.6%.

In August 2026, 96.3% of Omoda & Jaecoo's monthly sales in Spain were electrified vehicles, with 2,070 units featuring the Super Hybrid System.

Industry data

Private buyers are leading the charge. They account for 73% of all Omoda & Jaecoo sales. Business fleets and rental companies take the rest. The Omoda 5 is the top seller. It has reached 30,305 units, counting gasoline, hybrid, and electric versions. The Jaecoo 7 follows with 13,402 units. The Jaecoo 5 has 6,690. Plug-in models like the Omoda 9 and Omoda 7 are also gaining ground with buyers looking for electric options.

Regional figures show how far the brand has reached. In Soria, Omoda & Jaecoo lead with a 10.4% share of new registrations from January to August 2026. They hold second place in Badajoz, Castellón, and Cuenca. In Álava, Almería, Ávila, León, and La Rioja, they are third. Across Castilla-La Mancha and La Rioja, the brand is among the top three. They remain strong in Extremadura and the Balearic Islands.

According to sector publications, Omoda & Jaecoo registered 25,465 vehicles in Spain from January to August 2026, marking an 80.2% year-on-year increase and already surpassing their total for all of 2025.

Industry reports

The growth did not come out of nowhere. The Omoda 5’s earlier success in Spain, as reported by industry sources, set the stage. Now, electrified models are the backbone of the lineup.

The pace of change is striking. Omoda & Jaecoo started small, with just 173 units registered by the end of 2023. They closed 2024 with 8,885 sales. In 2025, that number more than doubled to 23,691. By September 2026, registrations hit 27,584. That’s already more than last year, and the year isn’t over.

The message is clear. Spain’s car market is shifting away from old brands and traditional engines. Omoda & Jaecoo’s rise, built on electrified tech and private buyers, shows how quickly tastes can change when the right cars arrive. For older automakers, the warning is simple. Adapt, or get left behind as new brands set the pace in Spain.
