Osasuna has officially changed its head coach: the club from Pamplona announced the signing of a contract with Luis Miguel Ramis until June 2028. The Catalan specialist, who is now 55, joins from Burgos after one of the most prominent seasons of his career. He is bringing with him a fully formed coaching staff, which includes José Manuel Gil, Iván Madroño, Miguel Ángel Fernández, and José Fajardo.
The presentation of the new coach and his first press conference are scheduled for the evening at El Sadar. For Ramis, this is his debut in Spain's top division: previously, he spent ten years working in the Segunda, where he managed to lead Burgos to a record 72 points in a season. Despite this result, the team did not have enough points to reach the playoffs, which became one of the main talking points in Spanish football.
At Burgos, Ramis built a team with a clear tactical structure and a minimal number of goals conceded — the club had the best defense in the league, and also ranked among the top three for fewest losses and best away results. This working style earned him an invitation from Osasuna, whose management counts on stability and competitiveness in LaLiga.
Before Burgos, the coach worked with Real Madrid's youth team, where he replaced Zidane at Castilla, and also headed Almería, saving the club from relegation, as well as Albacete, with whom he fought for promotion. His track record also includes stints at Tenerife and Espanyol. The new challenge at Osasuna is the most serious in his career: the club aims to secure its place in the elite and maintain its position amid tough competition.
Ramis's appointment is not the only notable example of personnel changes in Spanish sports in recent years.
