Pedro Sánchez has made Ceuta the centre of a wider fight with PP and Vox. Speaking at the PSC's Fiesta de la Rosa in Gavà, Barcelona, he promised that the government would use every necessary resource to restore normality in the autonomous city. He also accused the opposition of seeking images from the crisis while refusing to help solve it.
The prime minister and PSOE secretary-general presented the response as more than a police operation. The government has reinforced the border and offered help to self-employed workers and small businesses. Sánchez described the support as a dignified response and told residents that Ceuta would move forward.
The formal response was recorded in the Official State Gazette. It includes an emergency social and economic package for Ceuta. The government classified the crisis as a first-of-its-kind
