Pedro Sánchez has made Ceuta the centre of a wider fight with PP and Vox. Speaking at the PSC's Fiesta de la Rosa in Gavà, Barcelona, he promised that the government would use every necessary resource to restore normality in the autonomous city. He also accused the opposition of seeking images from the crisis while refusing to help solve it. The dispute also reaches border policy, including questions of citizenship and voting rights.
The prime minister and PSOE secretary-general said the response extended beyond policing. The government has reinforced the border and offered help to self-employed workers and small businesses. Sánchez described the support as a dignified response and told residents that Ceuta would move forward.
