ONCE launches new 'Dupla' lottery offering two chances to win. ONCE has introduced 'Dupla', a game with a unique format: players immediately see their possible prize upon purchase. In 2025, the organization aims to surpass €1.64 billion paid out in winnings. The new lottery also supports employment for people with disabilities.
A new lottery called 'Dupla' has launched in Spain, introduced by the ONCE organization. Its main feature is that players immediately see the prize they are eligible for, while the final outcome is determined during the draw. This approach distinguishes the product from other lotteries and, according to ONCE, is expected to attract more participants.
The 'Dupla' presentation took place simultaneously in 17 regions across the country. The events were attended by ONCE executives, including director Ángel Sánchez and deputy for gaming products Patricio Carselés. The first draw was held at 10:00, with more than 21,200 ONCE distributors selling tickets.
Two stages of winning
The player chooses a number from 1 to 15 and immediately finds out which prize they could win—from 5 to 500 euros, or the chance to get their stake back. The prize amount is determined randomly at purchase, regardless of the number chosen. The second stage is the actual draw: if the chosen number is drawn, the player receives the stated prize. If a neighboring number is drawn, the ticket price is refunded.
Participation costs 1 euro. According to ONCE, about one in five tickets wins a prize. Draws are held five times a day: at 10:00, 12:00, 14:00, 17:00, and 21:15. Results can be tracked on the organization's website or from ONCE vendors.
Social mission and employment
ONCE emphasizes that all lottery proceeds go to social programs and support for people with disabilities. In 2025, the organization signed 3,000 new employment contracts with distributors, all of whom are people with disabilities. Last year, ONCE paid out over €1.64 billion in prizes to residents of Spain.
The presentations also included the vendors themselves, many of whom noted that the new game not only helps them earn money but also maintain connections with their clients. Some shared personal stories: one saleswoman, for example, said that her grandmother once won ONCE and used the prize money to buy an apartment.
How 'Dupla' works
Unlike traditional lotteries, in 'Dupla' the player immediately knows which prize they are competing for. This changes the experience: waiting for the draw becomes more emotional, as the amount is known in advance. Each ticket is unique—the prize is randomly assigned at the time of purchase, and even if several players choose the same number, their potential winnings may differ.
Tickets are available from ONCE distributors, on the website, and at partner sales points. You can play for a single draw or for a series of up to 15 draws in a row. If a neighboring number is drawn, the player gets the chance to play again at no extra cost.
ONCE hopes that the new format will draw increased attention to the organization's social mission and allow for larger prize payouts in 2025.
