Switzerland finished the group with seven points from two wins and a draw, scoring seven goals and conceding three. Canada recorded four points from a campaign that included a win and a draw, and ended with one loss; it scored eight goals and conceded three. Other Group B results included Canada’s 1-1 draw with Bosnia and Herzegovina and 6-0 win over Qatar, while Switzerland drew 1-1 with Qatar and beat Bosnia and Herzegovina 4-1.
The published schedule lists Switzerland’s next fixture as a round-of-32 match against Algeria in Vancouver on July 2. Canada also advances to the knockout stage after finishing second in the group.
The 2026 World Cup features 48 teams and is co-hosted by Canada, alongside the United States and Mexico. Switzerland’s win secured first place in Group B, while Canada’s group campaign ended with a narrow defeat in front of home support at BC Place.
