Flick’s contract includes an option to extend for another year if objectives are met, but the club is already laying the groundwork for a coaching change.
As reported by AS, Barcelona’s interest in Fàbregas has gone beyond internal discussions: several months ago, a club representative was sent to Como to clarify the details of a potential move. This mission was carried out by Alejandro Echevarría, a close associate of Joan Laporta and Deco. His task is to ensure that Fàbregas will be able to leave the Italian club without obstacles, should Barcelona make an offer after 2028.
Fàbregas’s current work at Como 1907 has surprised even skeptics: the team, which recently earned promotion to the top division, reached the Champions League under his leadership. Such results have heightened interest in the specialist from top clubs, but it is Barcelona that has acted most deliberately and in advance.
At the same time, Luis Enrique's candidacy, despite a successful season at PSG and another Champions League victory, is not being considered by the club. The reason is not only the high salary, which Barcelona cannot offer, but also the team's management style. Luis Enrique prefers to fully control internal processes and limit outsiders' access to the team, which contradicts the current structure within the club. In particular, Alejandro Echevarría, considered key to internal communication, would not be able to fulfill his duties under such an approach.
