Paula Echevarría Protects Her Son from Online Haters, No Longer Shows His Face

Sudden Change of Heart: This Is Why Paula Echevarría Now Keeps Her Young Son Out of the Public Eye

The Spanish celebrity has changed her approach to social media. She no longer shows her son’s face online. The actress fears malicious users on the internet. Her decision has sparked many questions among fans.

Paula Echevarría, one of Spain’s most famous media personalities, has long used social media not only to promote her projects and showcase her fashion looks, but also to share moments from her personal life. Two children are an integral part of her world: seventeen-year-old Daniella, from her marriage to David Bustamante, and four-year-old Miki, from her current relationship with Miguel Torres. However, in recent weeks, followers have noticed some drastic changes in how the actress presents her younger child to the public.

This summer, nearly four million of the influencer’s Instagram followers have witnessed a new approach regarding little Miki. Whereas his photos used to appear often in her feed, now his face is either hidden behind stickers and emojis or blurred out. Other times, he’s photographed from behind, in profile, or shown only in brief, fleeting videos where his features can’t be distinguished. These changes haven’t gone unnoticed and have sparked a wave of comments and questions from her audience.

Paula herself shed some light on the situation in a recent candid conversation with journalists. When asked about her biggest fear at the moment, she directly linked it to her decision to stop posting photos of her son, who was born on April 11, 2021. Echevarría admitted that, perhaps, she previously hadn’t fully realized all the consequences of showing her child to such a large audience.

The actress explained that when you post a photo, it feels like you’re sharing it with a small group of friends, like in a WhatsApp chat. But in reality, there are millions of different people on the other side of the screen. The Asturias native emphasized that most of her followers are wonderful, positive, and kind individuals. However, she also noted with concern that there is another category of users online—those with bad intentions, who lead dark lives and harbor unkind thoughts. This realization caused her significant anxiety. “I told myself: the boy is four years old, and I will not be the reason strangers are watching him. Never again,” is how she described her final stance.

Things are very different with her older daughter, Daniella. The girl, who is about to turn eighteen, is much more in the public eye and feels completely at ease in the media space. A few months ago, she even posed for the first time with her mother in front of cameras at a social event, which, incidentally, caused quite a stir. Paula clarified that her daughter doesn’t act totally independently; they always discuss which photos can be shared and which cannot. The actress said she deeply respects Daniella’s decisions on these matters.
