The youngest daughter of the Spanish monarchs, Infanta Sofía, once again found herself at the center of public attention during the concert that preceded the Princess of Asturias Awards. Her appearance at the Prince Felipe Concert Hall in Oviedo caused quite a stir. For the 33rd ceremony, she chose a bold yet elegant outfit, proving that comfort and high fashion can coexist in perfect harmony. Despite the chilly weather, the young Infanta wore a striking Hugo Boss jumpsuit with a halter neckline, leaving her back completely exposed.
The event, organized by the Princess of Asturias Foundation with support from the Cajastur Foundation, was dedicated to the works of Brahms and Dvořák. The Oviedo Philharmonic Orchestra, together with the Foundation’s choir, provided the musical accompaniment. Notably, just like in 2023, Sofía opted for a black jumpsuit with wide-leg trousers. However, while last year’s model featured a high neckline and side slits, this year’s design—highlighting her more mature style—stood out with an elegant halter that revealed her back.
The royal family’s outfits were meticulously planned down to the last detail. Infanta Sofía wore black, her sister Princess Leonor chose navy blue, and Queen Letizia also opted for black. The strict lines of Sofía’s jumpsuit were tastefully softened by a slim patent leather belt with a gold buckle.
The outfit’s design was distinguished by a deep waterfall neckline, making any neck jewelry unnecessary. The jumpsuit was crafted from flowing, stretch crepe, lending smoothness and grace to every movement. It featured a classic cut with a high waist accentuated by a belt, a hidden side zipper, and side seam pockets. The absence of sleeves and a back slit, together with a partial lining, created a refined, modern silhouette.
The accessories were chosen with particular taste. The gold belt buckle echoed the bracelet on the Infanta’s right arm. Until recently, jewelry was not a hallmark of her looks. However, this time she completed her ensemble with the famous Karen Halam ring, which belongs to her mother. We may be witnessing a shift in style as she comes of age. Still, Sofía stayed true to herself with her hairstyle—loose hair parted in the middle with soft waves at the ends—and shoe choice: comfortable ballet flats. She wore the Yvette Slingback Flats by Pretty Ballerinas, made of black leather and mesh with a pointed toe and a low heel.
Her current, bolder look still follows the line of her previous appearances at the same event. In 2024, she dazzled in a figure-hugging black midi dress from Zara with a round neckline, draping at the waist, and an open back. She completed the outfit with lace ‘Mary Jane’ shoes from Carolina Herrera. The year before, in 2023, Sofía made a special trip from Wales, where she was studying at college, to attend the concert. For that occasion, she chose an original dark blue jumpsuit by Seville brand Cardié, featuring a high neckline, accentuated shoulders, and avant-garde side cutouts.
The style choices of 2025 and previous years highlight the clear evolution of Infanta Sofía’s taste, marked by maturity and consistency. At 18, she has managed to build her own identity among Europe’s young royals, balancing elegance, freshness, and modern touches. If in 2023 she surprised with a structured jumpsuit with avant-garde details, and in 2024 opted for restraint, today she takes another step towards refined youth fashion, finding a balance between boldness and naturalness. With each public appearance, the king’s youngest daughter proves that 21st-century royal style can be versatile and relevant without losing its institutional weight.
