
Malagaβs cultural life at the start of autumn
With the arrival of September, Malaga enters a new rhythm. After the summer influx of tourists, the city becomes calmer, but no less interesting. This is the time when vibrant events take place, attracting both locals and visitors from all over Spain.
In 2025, Malaga will for the first time host the renowned San Diego Comic-Con. Previously held only in the United States, this event will now take place in Spain. From September 25 to 28, the Exhibition and Congress Palace will become the venue for hundreds of hours of meetings, masterclasses, premieres, and themed shows. The event is expected to draw around 60,000 fans of comics, movies, TV series, and video games. Attendees will have the chance to meet famous artists and creators, as well as participate in cosplay contests and interactive entertainment.
Festivals, screenings, and fashion
From September 5 to 12, AlbΓ©niz cinema will host another edition of ‘La Edad de Oro,’ dedicated to the classics of world cinema. The program features 22 films, screened both on film and in digital format, with original audio and subtitles. This year, special attention is given to the work of Gena Rowlands, Paul Newman, Ingmar Bergman, David Lynch, YasujirΕ Ozu, Robert Bresson, John Cassavetes, and the Monty Python team. Tickets are available at the AlbΓ©niz box office and at the Cervantes theatre.
On September 19 and 20, the central Larios street will once again turn into a runway for fashion shows. Pasarela Larios is Europe’s longest outdoor catwalk, where both renowned designers and emerging brands will present their collections. This yearβs participants include Romina Brunelli, Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, FΓ©lix Ramiro, Romeo Couture, as well as Hard Rock Cafe Malaga and Bestseller.
Gastronomic discoveries and tours
On September 12 and 13, Malaga FΓ³rum will host the II Campero Fest, dedicated to one of the regionβs most popular dishes β campero. The festival will select the best campero of the year and feature tastings, concerts, a fair, and entertainment for children. Admission is three euros, part of which will go to charity.
On September 27, the Malaga Wine Museum invites visitors on a guided tour of the historic 18th-century Palacio de Biedmas. Guests will learn about the development of winemaking in the region and explore exhibits on the history and geography of production. The tour concludes with a tasting of two local wines for adults. Advance registration is required.
Music events and weather conditions
Major concerts are scheduled in Malaga this September. The most anticipated is the performance by Quevedo at the JosΓ© MarΓa MartΓn Carpena Sports Complex on September 13 and 14. Tickets for the second day are already sold out. On the same day, El Cuarteto de Nos will play at Paris 15, while on September 25, Young Cister, representing contemporary urban music, will perform at Sala Trinchera.
The weather in Malaga in September remains comfortable for walks and outdoor activities. Air temperatures stay between 26 and 30 degrees, with eight to ten hours of sunshine per day. It is the perfect time to explore the city and its cultural life.
