A New Royal Wedding in Europe Looms: Who Is Duchess Pauline of Württemberg?

A Royal Wedding for the Elite: Ancient Dynasties Unite in a Spectacle of Tradition

European nobility is preparing for a major celebration. Duchess Pauline of Württemberg has announced her engagement. This union is set to strengthen old aristocratic ties.

An event is brewing among the upper echelons of European aristocracy that promises to be one of the most talked-about in 2025. Duchess Pauline of Württemberg, a member of one of Germany’s oldest noble families, is preparing to tie the knot with Count Konstantin zu Koenigsegg-Aulendorf. Their union is more than just a love story—it’s a strategic alliance of capital, titles, and influence that will cement the position of the old aristocracy for decades to come.

The future bride, 28-year-old Pauline—whose full name is Philippa Adelheid Elena Maria—was born in London but has built her career in Berlin. She holds a position at the European office of the major American communications company VML, where she’s responsible for strategic planning. Her impressive background includes a master’s degree in media and sociology, as well as a diploma in customer experience and innovation. Pauline is the second of four children of the Duke of Württemberg and his former wife, Duchess Maria Carolina of Bavaria, making her a close relative of the ruling house of Liechtenstein.

Her fiancé, Count Konstantin, was born in Vienna in 1993 and is the eldest son and heir of Count Markus von Königsegg-Aulendorf. He graduated from the prestigious Zeppelin University with a degree in sociology, politics, and economics, and has established himself in the financial sector. Today, Konstantin manages the investment portfolio of the royal family of Liechtenstein—a clear sign of the utmost trust in his professional expertise.

The couple has literally known each other since childhood, which is not surprising in the close-knit world of European aristocracy. The engagement was celebrated quietly, within the family, away from public attention. The upcoming wedding will bring together such influential dynasties as the Württembergs, the Wittelsbachs, and the Bavarian and Liechtenstein houses. What unites them all is a shared commitment to traditional family values, Catholicism, and time-honored monarchical customs.

However, life for the Württemberg family has not been cloudless. In 2018, they suffered a tragedy: Pauline’s father’s elder brother, Friedrich, died in a car accident. Then in 2022, the head of the family himself, the bride’s grandfather, passed away. The title now belongs to her cousin, Duke Wilhelm. For Pauline, this will be the second marriage in her generation—her elder sister Sophia married back in 2018 and is already raising two children.

Although there has been no official announcement regarding the date and venue of the ceremony, it is safe to assume that the celebration will be held with due grandeur. Most likely, the couple will choose one of their family churches for the wedding, with a reception to follow at one of their ancestral castles, as is customary in their circles. This wedding will undoubtedly be a landmark event for all of European nobility.
