Original railcars, narrow-gauge tracks, small locomotives, and even old loading platforms—not only can you see all of this, you can touch it too. On weekends, the restored ‘Petit Tren’ runs here, giving visitors the chance to ride for several dozen meters along the historic rails. Now, with the mines long closed and trains no longer running, enthusiasts from the Associació de Trens Miners Turístics de Vallcebre are dedicated to preserving every discovery. They not only restore old equipment, but also organize tours to share stories about miners’ lives and daily routines, explaining how the region transformed with the rise and fall of industry.
Many visitors come here for more than just the trains. The surrounding area is home to old mines, ruins of walls, and tunnels just waiting to be explored on foot. This area is part of the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park, so walking these paths also offers a chance to enjoy the beauty of the Pyrenees, breathe the fresh mountain air, and see how nature is gradually reclaiming land once occupied by humans.

Vallcebre can only be reached by car. The nearest major city is Berga, from which roads C-16 and BV-4025 lead to the destination. The drive from Barcelona takes about an hour and a half. There is no railway connection to this corner of Catalonia, making the trip even more unique: trains here remain only as monuments.
