In 2025, Barcelona will once again become the hub of winter festivities on the coast. Port Vell will host a grand festival, set to be the largest event in the history of this celebration. Organizers have expanded the area to 24,000 square meters to accommodate even more guests and activities.
From November 28 to January 6, Moll de la Fusta will transform into a true winter village. There will be an ice rink for adults and children, as well as a huge panoramic Ferris wheel. This year, special focus is given to the maritime theme: guests can look forward to workshops on seafaring culture, live music performed by hundreds of students from local schools, and the Sabors de Nadal food market.
Sea adventures and new experiences
For the first time in 137 years, the legendary Golondrinas tour boats will offer illuminated night cruises with music. Free sailing workshops are organized for those who enjoy active recreationβthese will be held on specific days in November and December. Everyone is welcome to try being a sailor, setting off on a short voyage right from the city center.
This year, the festival is putting an emphasis on sustainability and accessibility. Admission is free, and many of the activities are designed for families. For children, there will be not only a skating rink and the traditional carousel, but also themed workshops and a free Christmas train connecting all the main spots in Port Vell.
Light shows and a festive atmosphere
In the evenings, Port Vell will be transformed by light installations and daily shows on the Jaume I tower, which will once again serve as the city’s main Christmas tree. Musical groups will perform on stage, and at the grand finale of the festivalβon January 3 and 4βthe royal pavilion will open, where children can leave letters for the Reyes Magos.
This year, the maritime rescue service will join the traditional participants, opening one of its ships to visitors. The historic vessel Far Barcelona will also open its doors again, and a special mailbox for children’s letters will be placed on board the Pailebot Santa EulΓ lia.
A festival for the whole family
Organizers promise that everyone will find something to enjoy, from culinary discoveries to thrilling attractions. The program runs for six weeks and covers all the holiday days. Once again, Barcelona proves its status as one of Europe’s most dazzling cities for winter getaways by the sea.
