Feijóo Demands Immediate Elections, Accuses Sánchez of Covering Up Corruption

Opposition Leader Calls for Change of Power as Scandals Mount in PSOE

Alberto Núñez Feijóo has delivered strong criticism against the government, calling for immediate elections and accusing Sánchez of protecting corrupt and sexist officials. Tensions are rising in the country.

Alberto Núñez Feijóo is once again at the center of Spain’s political life. The leader of the Partido Popular spoke at a rally in Extremadura to support the candidacy of María Guardiola. His speech came amid high-profile scandals involving corruption and allegations of sexual harassment within the ruling party.

Feijóo made a direct appeal to the public, calling for new elections. According to him, the current government not only fails to address problems but also stands in the way of the people’s will. He emphasized that true progressive values are about allowing people to freely express their opinions, take to the streets, and vote. In his view, Spaniards are currently deprived of these rights.

Accusations against the government

Feijóo did not hold back his emotions during his speech. He declared that Pedro Sánchez’s government had led to the ‘complete degradation’ of state institutions. The opposition leader is convinced that only a change of government can restore political normalcy and public trust in national structures.

Feijóo paid special attention to recent developments among the Socialists. In recent days, Spain has seen a series of arrests and searches targeting former high-ranking officials and key government bodies. These have included the Ministerio para la Transición Ecológica and the national postal service, Correos. The raids were carried out by members of the Guardia Civil, sparking widespread public reaction.

Corruption and scandals

Feijóo accused the socialists of becoming a “degraded party” that fully reflects the character of its leader. According to him, Sánchez behaves like a “hypocrite and cynic,” shielding and protecting those involved in corruption and sexism. The opposition leader reminded that since 2018, when the socialists came to power, Spain has been rocked by corruption scandals, and the situation is only getting worse.

This time, according to Feijóo, it is not just about a struggle between parties. He believes that the upcoming elections in Extremadura are an opportunity for the region to have an honest government, and for the whole country to restore political stability. The politician stressed that Spain should not tolerate a government mired in corruption and scandal.

Public reaction

Public dissatisfaction with the government’s actions is growing. Numerous arrests and investigations involving members of the ruling party have raised questions about the transparency and integrity of those in power. Feijóo is using this moment to increase pressure on Sánchez and his associates, demanding immediate elections and a change in political direction.

In conclusion, the leader of the Partido Popular called on the residents of Extremadura and the entire country not to remain indifferent. He is convinced that only active civic engagement and participation in elections can change the situation and return Spain to a normal political future.
