A dramatic event has shaken the small Andalusian town of Alpandeire. In early November, the body of a man was found on the side of a country road—partially undressed and bearing clear signs of violence. The investigation quickly took an unexpected turn: it was revealed that the victim was the new partner of a woman whose ex-husband soon became the focus of the police inquiry.
The victim, a 42-year-old resident of Puente Genil, had recently moved in with his girlfriend. His disappearance alarmed relatives, who were unaware of his new relationship. During their investigation, law enforcement officers identified the woman’s former husband as a key figure. According to investigators, his car may have been used to transport the body.
During searches of the suspect’s home and car, biological evidence was found linking him to the crime. Investigators established that the victim had spent several days living in the same house as the woman and her ex-husband. Later, the suspect offered to drive the man to the station in Gaucín but instead took him to a remote location, where he fatally struck him on the head and back with a heavy object.
After committing the crime, the body was placed in the trunk of a car, wrapped in plastic, and kept in the suspect’s home until he decided to dispose of the evidence. The murder weapon, along with clothing and other items connected to the crime, were hidden or discarded in different locations. The perpetrator tried to destroy the victim’s mobile phone by throwing it into the bushes.
Under pressure from the collected evidence, the suspect admitted his guilt. In the presence of his lawyer, he described the events in detail, which allowed authorities to reconstruct what happened. Following the interrogation, the court ordered him to be held in custody during the investigation.
The investigation was led by the major crimes unit, and overseen by the court of Ronda. Residents are still discussing the shocking incident, unable to hide their disbelief at what happened in their quiet town.
