The authorities of the autonomous community of Murcia have announced the preparation of a new regulatory framework, aimed at significantly changing the approach to maintaining order and safety in the region’s educational institutions. The new document provides for stricter accountability for serious offenses, aggressive behavior, and any actions that disrupt harmony within the school environment.
The main focus is on strengthening discipline and creating an atmosphere where every student feels safe. Regional authorities intend not only to update the existing rules but also to extend them to all spaces and events related to the school. This includes not only classrooms, but also corridors, schoolyards, and extracurricular activities.
Special attention is given to supporting teachers. The new regulations are expected to reinforce their authority and provide additional tools to prevent conflicts and respond quickly to any signs of aggression. Authorities emphasize that all forms of violence, isolation, or humiliation will be dealt with as strictly as possible.
In recent years, the region has already implemented measures aimed at reducing the number of incidents. For example, banning mobile phones in schools has led to a noticeable drop in threats and physical altercations, as well as a decrease in cyberbullying among teenagers. According to the regional government, the number of serious violations has fallen by nearly a third, while cases of online aggression are down by a quarter.
The new decree is expected to build on these initiatives and further improve efforts to combat bullying and disruptions. Authorities in Murcia are insisting on zero tolerance for any acts of aggression in schools, and hope the updated regulations will help create a safer, more welcoming environment for everyone involved in the educational process.
