Scandal Surrounds Alvise: Accusations of Harassment and Data Leak in the European Parliament

How the Alvise case could reshape the fight against cyberbullying in Spanish politics — experts weigh in, unexpected scenarios emerge, and party strategies face a serious test

Spain’s Supreme Court is handling a high-profile case: SALF leader Alvise is at the center of an investigation following accusations of harassment and the publication of personal data belonging to two former associates. What is behind this conflict, and what are its implications for the country’s political scene?

The Supreme Court of Spain has found itself at the center of a high-profile political case involving MEP and leader of the Se Acabó La Fiesta (SALF) movement, Luis Pérez, better known as Alvise. The focus is on his relationship with two former party colleagues, Diego Soler and Nora Junco, who, after leaving SALF, accused the politician of targeted harassment and disclosure of their personal data.

Alvise voluntarily appeared in court to provide explanations in a case concerning a possible violation of privacy and cyberbullying. During questioning, he admitted that he published messages on his Telegram channel that revealed personal information about Soler and Junco. However, the politician insisted that his actions were not intended to intimidate or harass, but were merely an expression of political stance and internal party disagreements. Moreover, he referred to his former associates as “friends,” emphasizing that he did not wish them harm.

Accusations and reaction

The victims’ lawyer, Guillermo Ruiz Blaiz, publicly questioned the sincerity of such statements, pointing out that friendly relations hardly match the aggressive rhetoric used on Telegram. Alvise himself, speaking to journalists outside the courthouse, limited himself to assurances of his innocence and refused to disclose interrogation details, citing its confidential nature. Instead, he took the opportunity to promote his new book and make a political forecast about the upcoming elections in Aragón, promising “changes in the regional government.”

Soler and Junco have filed an official complaint with the Supreme Court, claiming they were subjected to systematic attacks by Alvise over several months via various online platforms. According to them, the publication of their personal data led to threats and forced them to change their usual way of life: they had to close their social media accounts, change their email addresses, and even phone numbers. The MEPs argue that such a campaign not only put their safety at risk but also seriously complicated their work in the European Parliament and their family lives.

Chronicle of the conflict

The confrontation reached its peak during the vote on the European arms program. Soler and Junco supported the initiative, going against SALF’s position, which triggered a sharp reaction from Alvise. In one of his podcasts, he publicly questioned his colleagues’ motives, hinting at possible influence from ‘lobbyists,’ and called on his followers to ‘demand answers from the defectors.’ Later, messages urging people to gather information about Soler appeared on Telegram, along with publications containing his personal data, including social media profiles, email address, date of birth, and photographs.

In June of the same year, criticism was also directed at Junco: a Telegram post accused her of breaking promises and included photos proving she had flown business class at government expense. According to the victims, after these publications, they faced a wave of abuse and threats, and had to change their usual routines and routes out of concern for their own safety.

Consequences for the party

In May 2025, Soler and Junco officially announced their departure from SALF, accusing Alvise of encouraging ‘blackmail and aggressive tactics’ and abandoning transparency principles. Both politicians joined the European Conservatives and Reformists Group, while Alvise remained outside the group due to ongoing legal proceedings.

The Supreme Court, reviewing the case materials, noted that Alvise’s actions may have been aimed at deliberately interfering in the private lives of former colleagues and creating conditions for their persecution by SALF supporters. Judge Manuel Marchena, leading the investigation, has already heard testimony from Soler and Junco, who confirmed all aspects of their complaint. Alvise was invited to provide a voluntary explanation, as official suspect status requires approval from the European Parliament.

Parallel investigations

This is not the only instance where the name Alvise appears in Supreme Court materials. The SALF leader is already facing three other investigations: one regarding the dissemination of a fake PCR test involving former Health Minister and current head of Catalonia Salvador Illa, another on accusations of cyberbullying Valencia’s prosecutor for hate and discrimination cases, Susana Gisbert, and a third on suspicion of illegal party financing through large donations from a businessman known by the pseudonym CryptoSpain.

The situation surrounding Alvise and SALF remains one of the most talked-about topics in Spanish politics, raising questions about the limits of acceptable behavior in the public arena and the responsibility of leaders for their supporters’ actions. Ahead are more hearings and, possibly, unexpected twists in this case.
