
Traffic on the A-3 highway near Honrubia (province of Cuenca) was completely blocked after a serious accident involving two trucks. According to El Pais, both vehicles caught fire after the collision, leading to a halt in both directions and significant congestion towards Madrid.
According to the Castilla-La Mancha emergency service 112, both drivers were injured. Units from the Civil Guard, firefighters from Motilla del Palancar, and several ambulance teams arrived at the scene. Emergency personnel continue to work on eliminating the consequences of the accident and providing assistance to the injured.
Traffic blocked
The trucks completely blocked both lanes at kilometer 170 of the highway towards Madrid. According to the DGT, traffic jams over two kilometers long have already been recorded in this area. For safety, the opposite lane has also been closed, further worsening the traffic situation in the region.
Detour arrangement
The Civil Guard has organized a detour via the national road N-III. Drivers are advised to use the exit at kilometer 175 near Cañada Juncosa and rejoin the A-3 at Honrubia. Road and emergency services continue working on site to restore traffic as soon as possible.
