One of the worst tragedies in recent years occurred in Shreveport, Louisiana: as a result of an armed attack in a residential area, eight children were killed and two women were seriously injured. After the attack, Elkins tried to escape by stealing a car. The chase ended in Bossier City, where he was shot and killed during a shootout with police on Brompton Lane. Investigators are now determining whether the fatal shot was self-inflicted or fired by police. No officers were injured during the operation. The Louisiana State Police are investigating the circumstances of the suspect’s death.
