Record Levels of Concern Over Housing
In October 2025, Spaniards once again singled out housing-related issues as the most pressing. According to the latest sociological survey data, 37.1% of respondents named this aspect as their main concern. This is the highest figure ever recorded in such polls, pointing to growing tension in the real estate market.
Compared to the previous month, the share of those worried about housing issues grew by more than seven percentage points. This trend highlights that the availability and cost of real estate are becoming increasingly important for the population.
Immigration and Job Quality: Other Major Concerns
Immigration ranked second among the most worrisome topics. Although its relevance decreased compared to September, it remains in the public spotlight. The share of mentions fell from 27.3% to 20.5%.
Concerns related to the quality of employment took third place, reaching 18.3%—another record for the country. In the previous survey, this figure was lower at 17.1%. Thus, Spaniards are increasingly noting problems not only with finding work but also with working conditions.
Other Issues in Focus: Unemployment, Economy, Politics
Unemployment has come to the forefront again, rising from eighth to fourth place. Its rate increased by 2.7 percentage points compared to the historic low recorded in September. Economic difficulties have also become more noticeable: 15.7% of respondents mentioned them, up from September’s level.
At the same time, issues related to government activity, political parties, and the behavior of politicians have become less of a priority for citizens. Their share among the main concerns has dropped, although they remain among the top ten most frequently mentioned topics.
Rising importance of healthcare and youth issues
In October, concerns about the state of the healthcare system increased. This was particularly evident amid delays in breast cancer screening in Andalucía. The share of respondents worried about this issue rose to 13.4%.
For the first time in a long while, issues related to youth and their lack of opportunities entered the top ten major concerns. This figure reached 12.7%, five points higher than the previous month.
Personal perception of problems and economic expectations
When it comes to difficulties Spaniards personally feel, housing also tops the list—26.2% of respondents cited it as their main personal problem. This is followed by economic challenges (24%), healthcare concerns (22.3%), job quality (20.5%), and youth issues (10.5%).
More than half of survey participants (54.2%) consider the country’s economic situation to be unsatisfactory. About a quarter of respondents admitted that their own financial situation leaves much to be desired, while two thirds do not experience serious difficulties.
