Carlos Alcaraz finished his run at the tournament in the Japanese capital with the best possible result. His victory in the final earned him not only an extra 500 points in the season rankings but also a substantial cash prize of €355,000. Thanks to this success, the Spaniard further strengthened his position at the top of the annual standings.
This season, Alcaraz has already collected €14.2 million in prize money, allowing him to remain the tour leader in this category. His final opponent, American Taylor Fritz, earned 330 points and €191,000 for reaching the decisive match. Fritz currently ranks fifth in the race to qualify for the season-ending tournament in Turin, trailing Alcaraz by 7,245 points.
Experts note that the Spanish athlete not only delivers consistently strong performances on court but also far outpaces his competitors in off-court earnings. According to Forbes data published in August, Alcaraz has topped the list of the world’s highest-paid tennis players for the second year in a row. Over the past 12 months, his total income reached $48.3 million—$6 million more than the previous year.
A significant part of this amount comes from endorsement deals—according to the publication, these contracts brought Alcaraz about $35 million. This result allows him to stand out notably among other global tennis stars.
The victory in Tokyo further reinforced Alcaraz’s status as one of the main favorites of the season. His consistent performance and financial success highlight the Spaniard’s dominance both on and off the court.
