Chinese technology company Xiaomi has announced plans to enter the European electric vehicle market in 2027. According to company executives, Europe is considered the most challenging region for launching new models, but the company intends to start with this market.
The president of Xiaomi emphasized that the company plans to apply the same business model in Europe as it does in China. Research and preparatory work are currently underway, but no specific products have yet been unveiled for the European market.
It is noted that the Xiaomi brand is already well known in Europe, including Spain, where brand recognition exceeds 95%. However, the company’s electric vehicles have not yet gained wide recognition, and by 2027 Xiaomi plans to step up its marketing efforts to attract customer attention.
Xiaomi’s financial results for the second quarter of 2025 showed significant growth. The company’s net profit increased by 133% compared to the same period last year, reaching about 1.4 billion euros. Total revenue reached nearly 13.8 billion euros, a 30.5% increase over the previous year.
Smartphone sales declined slightly, but the Internet of Things and services segment posted substantial growth—over 40% and 10% respectively. Xiaomi’s global smartphone shipments reached 42.4 million units, allowing the company to retain third place worldwide by sales volume for the twentieth consecutive quarter.
Particular attention is being paid to the electric vehicle and artificial intelligence business. Revenue in this segment exceeded 2.5 billion euros for the quarter, more than tripling compared to last year. Electric vehicles accounted for about 2.45 billion euros, which is 230% more than last year.
Revenue growth in the electric vehicle segment is attributed to increased deliveries and higher average prices. During the quarter, the company delivered more than 81,000 vehicles, nearly triple the figure from a year earlier. The average selling price rose by 11%, driven by sales of the premium Xiaomi SU7 Ultra model.
In the first six months of 2025, Xiaomi recorded a net profit of 2.7 billion euros, up 146% compared to the same period in 2024. Revenue for the half-year rose by 38%, exceeding 27 billion euros.
Thus, Xiaomi is confidently expanding its presence in the electric vehicle sector and preparing to enter the European market, where it plans to compete with leading manufacturers by leveraging proven business models and strengthening its marketing.
