The Spanish capital hosted the premiere of two new Kia models, marking a fresh chapter in the company’s product line development. The event showcased the EV5 and PV5—cars targeting different market segments but sharing an electric platform and modern solutions.
The EV5 joins the brand’s electric vehicle family as its fifth member. The model stands out with an enlarged luggage compartment and spacious interior, a notable advantage compared to other cars in this class. The body is 4.61 meters long, with a wheelbase of 2.67 meters, providing extra space for passengers.
Sales of the EV5 are scheduled to begin in November. Initially, two versions will be available: the standard and GT-Line. Later, a sporty GT modification and an all-wheel-drive option will be added. The 160 kW (215 hp) electric motor is paired with an 81.4 kWh battery. Preliminary estimates put the driving range at up to 530 kilometers on a single charge. Fast charging allows the battery to go from 10% to 80% in about 30 minutes. Among the features—bidirectional charging technology enables the car to supply power to external devices.
The second new model is the PV5—a fully electric commercial vehicle that launches the new PVB (Platform Beyond Vehicle) line. This series is designed to broaden perspectives on the potential of commercial transport. The PV5 stands out for its impressive dimensions: length—4.69 meters, width—1.89 meters, height—1.92 meters. A passenger version will be released in October, followed by a cargo version in November. In 2026, a cab-chassis modification is expected. Camper options are also planned, made possible by the squared-off body and generous interior space.
The cargo PV5 can transport up to 4,420 liters, with a cargo bay length of 2.25 meters—enough for two Euro pallets. For convenient loading, the model features two rear doors and a low threshold, just 42 centimeters above the ground. The passenger version is equipped with a large trunk that expands from 1,320 to 3,615 liters when the seats are folded down. Inside, functionality meets comfort: a 7.5-inch digital instrument panel, a 12.9-inch navigation screen, and numerous storage compartments, including an enlarged glove box and under-seat niches.
Several battery options are available for the PV5: 51.5 and 71.2 kWh with NCM (nickel-cobalt-manganese) technology, as well as a 43.3 kWh LFP for the future cargo variant. Integrating the cells directly into the battery pack has improved efficiency. The base version offers a range of 297 kilometers, while the Long Range model reaches up to 416 kilometers. Fast charging both versions takes about 30 minutes to restore energy from 10% to 80%.
