Forty cars built before 1940 are scheduled to travel through Almería province from 5 to 9 November. The opening display and floral tribute to the Virgen del Mar begin at 19:00 on Thursday.

A 1905 Vermorel owned by club member Pepe Moreno is among the historic cars expected on the route. Built in France, the vehicle is a rare example of early motoring. It can also be seen at his Museo del Vehículo Histórico in El Ejido.

The 36th Ruta de Vehículos Antiguos de Almería brings together 40 cars built before 1940, with participants from 11 Spanish cities. Organised by the Club de Vehículos Antiguos de Almería, the five-day event runs from 5 to 9 November. It turns the route into a travelling museum on wheels, with displays in Almería and Enix, followed by stops in Terque and Alsodux before the cars reach Fort Bravo in Tabernas. Club president José Juan Soria describes the route as a national reference after more than three decades of history. The field includes cars from Ford and Franklin, as well as Rolls-Royce models. Packard and Buick are also represented. Coverage of the event highlights Hispano-Suiza and Chevrolet, alongside Plymouth.

The route opens in Almería on Thursday 5 November. Cars are due at Plaza Virgen del Mar for a 19:00 display, followed by the traditional floral offering to the patron, the Virgen del Mar. The programme pairs public exhibitions with the ceremonial opening. The Club de Vehículos Antiguos de Almería is organising the event.

On Friday 6 November, the cars will be displayed on calle Navarro Rodrigo from 10:00 to 11:30, opposite the provincial government building, which is due to host a reception at 11:00. The convoy is expected in Enix at about 12:30. An exhibition there will continue until 17:30.

On Saturday, the cars are expected in Terque at 11:00 before continuing to Alsodux. Both municipalities will host the travelling museum. Fort Bravo, the Western town in Tabernas, is scheduled for Sunday 8 November, with visits from 12:00. Participants are due to return to their home towns on Monday 9 November.

The cars come from an era before today’s registration system: Spain’s sequence stood at NTX on 3 November, according to this plate sequence report. Andalucía Directo has confirmed it will attend the first day and broadcast a report on Canal Sur Televisión across Andalusia.
