Eight artists to perform in Ventosa on the cultural route along the Camino de Santiago. On May 23, Ventosa will host a cultural event featuring eight artists and groups. The initiative is organized to promote the open-air museum '1 Km de Arte.' The program includes music, theater, dance, and poetry.
The authorities of Ventosa have announced a major cultural event on May 23: a series of live performances by eight artists and groups from La Rioja will take place along the Camino de Santiago route passing through the town. The main goal is to draw attention to the open-air museum '1 Km de Arte', which has been developing along the one-kilometer pilgrimage trail for fifteen years.
Organizers note that this year the project has been renamed 'Sembrando Arte'. As part of the third edition, guests are invited to join an evening route through the vineyards and historic sites of Ventosa, including the San Saturnino church and the '1 Km de Arte' exhibition itself. The program lasts for three and a half hours: from 18:30 to 21:00.
Participants and program
Among the participants are dancer and choreographer Samuel Retortillo, who for the first time will present a fragment of his new piece 'Comunidades faunas' together with ballerina María Ganzaraín. Also performing are singer-songwriter Elena Aranoa, actor Fernando Masía with a reading from the latest winner of the 'Berceo lee a Gonzalo' competition, theater collective Mon Teatro with a modern social drama, comedian David VIP, rock band Protocolo Snob, the musical project Ari & The Peppers led by Cielo Arissa, as well as the metal band Ataxia f., which includes natives of Ventosa.
Each performance will take place at a separate spot along the route, next to works by renowned authors such as Olarte, Balanza, Cenzano, Carlos Corres, Naiara Arrieta, Resaks, Beatriz Carbonell, David Aizpurgua, and Toño Naharro. This format not only introduces visitors to contemporary art from the region, but also shows how it is integrated into the natural and historical landscape.

Tickets for 'Sembrando Arte' are available online on the '1Km de Arte' website and by email at turismoventosa@gmail.com. The price is 10 euros for adults and 5 euros for teenagers under 18. For families with children, a separate paid area with animators is provided (10 euros). Organizers emphasize that the event format is designed for a wide range of visitors, including families and young people.

According to Ventosa representatives, supporting local artists and developing cultural routes are an important part of the strategy to attract tourists and promote the cultural heritage of La Rioja. Mon Teatro head César Novalgos noted that such initiatives help shape a critically thinking and educated society, as well as support the local creative environment.
