Hora América examines Brazil's first-round vote on Sunday 4 October, with Lula and Flávio Bolsonaro at the centre of the race. The programme also looks at the diaspora vote, political polarisation and the issues that could shape a runoff.

On Sunday 4 October, Brazilian voters will choose a president, governors and members of Congress. Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and Flávio Bolsonaro lead the presidential race. Lula is seeking a fourth term.

Radio Exterior de España has built a special edition of Hora América around the vote. The programme links the campaign inside Brazil with the concerns of Brazilians living in Spain.

The race is tight.

Its focus goes beyond the question of who finishes first. The broadcast examines polarisation, undecided voters, the issues that could sway the result and the possible routes to a second round.
