Spanish actress Elisa Mouliaá appeared at the Plaza de Castilla courts in Madrid on Wednesday after Judge Arturo Zamarriego ordered her arrest over three missed summonses in proceedings linked to a complaint by former deputy Íñigo Errejón. The order aimed to secure her appearance in court; it did not decide the merits of the allegations between them.
Zamarriego signed the arrest order on June 16 to compel Mouliaá to testify after her repeated absences. Mouliaá said she had returned to Spain voluntarily from abroad to comply with the court’s demands. She attributed her earlier absences to professional commitments outside the country and medical reasons, saying she had documented and submitted both explanations to the court.
The legal dispute traces back to Mouliaá’s allegation that Errejón sexually assaulted her at a party in 2021. The current proceedings concern Errejón’s complaint over Mouliaá’s public accusation that he manipulated two witnesses from that party. These are separate allegations in a broader conflict involving complaints and counter-complaints; neither, by itself, establishes a finding of guilt. Zamarriego is overseeing this strand of the case at Madrid’s Court of Instruction No. 9.
